Ilacqua, Rosario S. MANHATTAN Rosario "Sal" Ilacqua passed away on December 11, 2012 at the Beth Israel Hospital in NYC where he succumbed to complications of congestive heart failure. Born in Albany in 1927, he was the son of Anthony and Carmela (Gerasia) Ilacqua. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Sal graduated from Siena College and Columbia School of Business, where he was in the last class taught by legendary Benjamin Graham and David Dodd. He was a highly respected oil industry analyst and a general partner from 1957-1987 at L F Rothschild & Co. He was then CFA with Nikko Securities from 1987-1990 and then with Rothchild Inc in 1990. His last 14 years were with Monness Crespi Hardt & Co. Sal was considered the Dean of oil analysts and was proud of co-founding NAPIA - the National Assoc of Petroleum Investment Analysts. Sal was cherished by family, his many friends and industry executives. Sal is survived by his loving nieces and nephews, George Froehlich, Anthony Ilacqua, Steven Froehlich, Peter Pridon, Kimberly Froehlich Swift, Brian Ilacqua and Paula Pridon Harmon and his loving sister-in-law, Marilyn Ilacqua of Loudonville. As well as a host of people who will miss "our pal Sal." He is predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Pridon and Mary Froehlich; his brother, John Ilacqua; and nephew, John T. Ilacqua. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday December 14, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham N.Y. Sal's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Latham. Rev Michael Farano will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
