Casey, Shawn P. BRUNSWICK Shawn P. Casey, 34 years old, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Shawn was born in Albany on August 11, 1978, and was the son of Harold J. and Carolyn M. (Kuhn) Casey of Brunswick. A lifelong resident of Brunswick, Shawn was a member of the graduating class of 1997 of the LaSalle Institute in Troy where he excelled at playing hockey and tennis. He furthered his education at the State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome where he earned his bachelor's degree. Shawn was currently employed by the New York State Department of Technology and held the positions of networking engineer and project manager. Many of his friends and clients will also remember him from Mainline Nation Clothing Company, a business he co-founded and was currently operating with his friend, Dave Miclette. Gone too soon, Shawn was loved and will never be forgotten by his family and friends. His memory will long be cherished for so many things, and especially for his love of cars, stereo systems and for his dedication to the gym. Shawn was an avid fan of the New York Giants, the Boston Celtics and the Buffalo Sabres and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy. In addition to his loving parents, Shawn is survived by his wife, Sarah (Mayo); his sister and brother-in-law, Sara (Rick) Ware of Guilderland; his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Casey; his aunts and uncles, Frank and Janice Kuhn, Henry and Peggy Casey, John and Becky Casey, Steve and Lonnie Casey, Frank and Karen Casey, Jim and Tracey Casey and Cathleen Casey; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Shawn was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Harold A. Casey, and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Marie (Eagle) Kuhn. Shawn's funeral will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Shawn's family on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
