Sawicki, Stephen COLONIE Stephen Sawicki, 88, of Colonie, passed away November 21, 2012. Born in Germany, he lived in Poland as a young man. He came to America in 1949 and later became a U.S. citizen. Stephen lived most of his life in the Capital Region. He was employed as an equipment operations supervisor for Freihofer Bakery, retiring in 1986. He is survived by Natalie, his loving wife of more than 67 years; his sons, James (Nancy), Steve (Kris) and Henry (Judy); his daughter, Mary (Richard) Van Ness and his brother, Stanley (Mary Lou). Stephen enjoyed countless hours with his 12 wonderful grandchildren and his 18 very playful great-grandchildren. Also, he leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph (Veronica). Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Tebbutt & Frederick Memorial Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 26 at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville.
