Caiozzo, Susan M. TROY Susan Marie (Place) Caiozzo, 52, left us unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 and entered into the arms of the angels, joining her father, Earl Place and her brother, James Place. Born in Albany on August 21, 1960, Susan was raised in North Albany and was educated in Albany public schools. At the time of her passing she had been employed by the State University of New York at Albany for more than 25 years. More than anything else in the world, Susan loved her family and will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mom, a cherished grandmother, a dear daughter and sister and a best friend to many. Among the things she enjoyed were watching auto racing at the Lebanon Valley Speedway and rooting for her favorite driver, Kenny Tremont, Jr., watching monster trucks, listening to country music, attending Country Fest, the St. Patrick's Day holiday and shopping. Susan was a selfless person and she lived for and loved everyone. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of those she leaves behind that can never be filled. She was loved and will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. Susan is survived by her loving mother, Eleanor Houting Place; her five cherished children, Phillip M. (Kaedy Graves), Anthony L. (Cheryl), Aimee N. (Randy Kretzschmar), Daniel F. and Amity C.; her much adored grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Dominic and Averie; her devoted brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Kateri), Richard (Betty Wallace), Eileen (William Desforge), Carol (William Parker) and her sister-in-law, Irene (James' wife); her godson, Chris "Rocky" Place; her special friends, Debbie Howansky and Karen Elk; her special cousin, Laurie Leahy. She is also survived by several other loving cousins and many nieces and nephews. A service celebrating Susan's life will be held on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Family and friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Susan's family on Thursday, before the service, from 4 until 7 p.m. Interment will take place privately in the Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
