Aunchman, Theresa J. ROTTERDAM Theresa J. Brassard Aunchman, 86, of Rotterdam entered into the arms of the Lord and her eternal rest on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at home with her loving daughter and granddaughter by her side. Theresa was born in Cohoes on September 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph and Odile Dame Brassard. She grew up in Cohoes and attended Cohoes High School. Theresa was married on July 25, 1953 to Raymond Francis Aunchman and moved to Rotterdam shortly after. Theresa was a homemaker and worked in various retail positions before retiring. Theresa enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved listening to and playing the organ. She also loved to crochet and put together jigsaw puzzles. She will always be remembered as a loving, generous and compassionate person. She worshiped at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church of Rotterdam and participated in many church functions. Survivors include her loving daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Michael Morrett of Glenville; two beloved grandchildren, Eric and Cheryl Morrett; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Peat; and a brother, Donald Brassard. Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Raymond who passed on July 24, 2011; her sisters, Aline Peat, Estelle Kiley, Alice Warenda, Irene Knowlton; and two brothers, Raymond and Francis Brassard. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful compassion and sensitivity of the nurses at the Ellis Infusion Center, the staff of Schenectady Oncology Hematology, Kingsway Arms Home Care as well as Schenectady Hospice. Special thanks to her granddaughter, Cheryl, for her help in the loving care of her grandmother and to all of the family, friends and neighbors for their support at our time of need. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, 9:15 from the funeral home, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel's Church, Hamburg St., Rotterdam.
