Shea, Thomas H. Jr. RED ROCK Thomas H. Shea Jr., 51, of Red Rock, passed away on March 17, 2015, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 31, 1963, in Red Bank, N.J., he was the son of the late Thomas H. Shea Sr. and Bonnie (Calkins) Shea Townsend. He attended Ichabod Crane Central School and North Country Community College and served four years in the U. S. Navy as a boiler technician aboard the USS Ponce. Tom was a long-time employee of Cibro Petroleum in the Port of Albany. He also worked for Hanson Well Drilling in Nassau; Fairbanks Morse in Janesville, Wisc.; R & R Fresh Fruits and Vegetables in Boca Raton, Fla.; the City of Key West, Florida; and, most recently, The Shaw Group in Waterford. Tom was an outdoorsman who loved hiking and camping, a favorite camping spot being the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Other hobbies included reading, listening to music, cars and driving, and cooking. Surviving are his daughter, Gillian M. Roach of Arlington, Va.; his mother, Bonnie C. Townsend of Ghent; two sisters, April L. Shea of Ghent and Holly B. Shea of Key West; and two brothers, N. Jack Townsend Jr. (Audrey) of West Hills, Calif. and Scott K. Townsend (Sheri) of Delmar. Nieces and nephews include Shea Van Deusen of Ghent; Eliot Shea-Denwood of Key West; Shelby Asher (Kory) of Imperial Beach, Calif.; Emma Townsend of Rexford; and Mackenzie and Alexander Townsend of Delmar. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 12 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham. Contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the American Cancer Society Hope Club, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
