Roberts, William III "Bill" VERO BEACH, Fla. William "Bill" Roberts III, 69, passed away peacefully June 13, 2013. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late William Jr. and Dolores (Bechard) Roberts. Bill was a resident of both Waterford and Cohoes, before moving to Florida in 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1967. He was a member of the F.B. Peck Hose Fire Company serving terms as assistant chief and fire chief. Bill was a very proud father and grandfather attending many school, sports and social events and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Judy (Trembley) of Vero Beach; cherished children, Darlene (Kevin) Hachmeister of Melbourne, Fla., Deborah (Steven) Goss of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and David Roberts (Kathleen) of Latham; adored grandchildren, Liam and Jack Hachmeister, Kaitlyn and Kirsten Goss, Matthew and Emily Roberts; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Bill was predeceased by his brother, David and grandson, Andrew Goss. Burial was with military honors at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Fla.. A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham at 10:30 a.m. on June 29. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice House, 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
