Oppenheim, Louis F. ALBANY Louis F. Oppenheim, 87, formerly of Albany, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Kingsway Arms in Schenectady where he had been a resident. Born on June 11, 1924, in Albany, he was the son of the late Louis W. and Anna (nee: Cogges hall) Oppen heim. He was a lifelong Albany area resident and a graduate of Albany Academy (1942). Louis went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Amherst College and his master's degree from the State University of New York. Louis worked for the New York State Department of Labor in Albany for many years, retiring as a field auditor in 1980. Louis was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Albany. He was also a member of the Albany Optimist Club, the Retired Men's Club of Albany, and the University Club. Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary C. Oppenheim (nee Teel); his sons, William (Bette Ann) Oppenheim of Wayne, Pa., John (Linda) Oppenheim of Schenectady and James (Dina Toto) Oppenheim; six grandchildren, Amy Norcini, Lauren, John Jr., Connie, and Corinne Oppenheim, and Daniel (Abby) Oppenheim; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady. Interment will be in Waterville Cemetery later in the spring.
