Pesnicak, Catherine P. ALBANY Catherine P. Pesnicak, 93, formerly of Rosemont Street, Albany, passed away on February 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, Guilderland. Born in Albany on April 28, 1920, Catherine was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Schmidbauer) Peters. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Louis in 1966, beloved brother William in 2006, and infant brother John. Catherine attended Vincentian Institute and retired from the Niagara Mohawk power company. She was a lifelong resident of Albany and communicant of Our Lady of Angels Church until their closure. She was an avid sports fan and never missed a Mets or Jets game on the radio or television. Catherine also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and knitting. She looked forward to vacations at Cape Cod, Mass. and Sacandaga with family. Catherine is survived by her devoted family, niece, Susan Fuller (Robert) of Loudonville; nephews, William Peters (Patrice) of Voorheesville, Robert Peters (Diane) of Delmar; sister-in-law, Marion Peters of Albany and cousin, Lorraine Remo of Delmar. She is also survived by a great-niece, Lauren Fuller Frey, several great-nephews, David Fuller, William, Daniel and Robert Peters, and many loving cousins, James Schmidbauer, Deborah Vincent, Constance Shrier, Lorraine Remo, Gretchen Remo, Kirsten Schaming and Gabrielle Zehnter. Her family would like to thank the entire staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, especially Fatima Unit. A special thank you to Emma, Rich, Mary, Beth, Anita, Linda, Millie, Kristin, Anita and Leah for their compassionate care of Catherine over the past several years. Funeral services, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N Allen St., Albany thence to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 9:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment, Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
