Wright, John A. ALBANY John A. Wright, 73, died at his home on Thursday, February 6, 2014. Born in Queens, he was the son of the late John A. Wright and Gladys Berg Wright. He was a graduate of Pace University in New York City, where he received his B.B.A. He worked for New York State for almost 40 years, retiring as a chief accountant for the Public Service Commission. Mr. Wright was a passionate student of the martial arts. He was a 4th Dan in Aikido, which he began his training for in 1979. He was also involved in the Chinese martial arts Tai Chi, Bagua Chang and Hsing-i. As an instructor, he was most proud of passing on his art to his students. Mr. Wright was also an avid reader, enjoyed discussing politics and history, and passed on an appreciation of "Doctor Who" to his daughter. He is survived by his wife, Diane Barry Wright and daughter, Valerie M. Wright. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the
