McInerney, Timothy J. TROY Timothy J. McInerney, 76, of 366 Sixth Ave., N. Troy, died on February 17, 2014 at home after a four-and-a-half year amazing fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Born in Troy on December 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Frank McInerney and Anita LeForester Crump and stepson of the late John Crump and brother of the late Frank McInerney. He was predeceased by his beloved companion Eileen Gleason, who died in 1995. Tim was a lifelong resident of Troy and a graduate of LaSalle Institute and Hudson Valley Community College. Mr. McInerney was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation for more than 35 years, retiring in 1993. Tim began his career as an inspector on the construction of a section of the Adirondack Northway (Glens Falls overpass) and progressed through the engineering ranks to become engineer-in-charge of numerous construction projects. During his career with New York State, Mr. McInerney was a member of the Civil Service Employees Association. He held many elected offices in C.S.E.A., one of which was a member of the C.S.E.A. board of directors, representing more than 14,000 D.O.T. employees. Mr. McInerney was also a life member of the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers. Tim was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Tim enjoyed his winter vacations in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands until he was unable to travel. He was the father of Timothy J. McInerney of Buffalo, Beverly (Ted) Cervine of Waterford and Janice McInerney of Watervliet; brother of Robert (Beth) McInerney of Waterford. Also survived by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Julia Malinowski, as well as time with Lilly Meaker! Tim also leaves to mourn his very special lady, Carol Triffilette of Colonie, who was always so supportive and loving. Funeral will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh thence to St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh where at 9:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held in St. John's Cemetery, Troy.
