Van Amerongen, Adele Parker CLIFTON PARK Adele Parker Van Amerongen, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Schuyler ridge nursing home in Clifton Park. She was the wife of the late John Van Amerongen and the late Ansley Van Amerongen of Rensselaer. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Parker Malary, and her three brothers, Gilbert Parker, Everett Parker and Elwyn Parker. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School and Albany business college and served as executive secretary to the superintendent of Schools at Bethlehem Central from 1939 until her retirement in 1971. During her working years, she was a member of Bethlehem Business Women, Albany Area Educational Secretaries Assn. (VP) and a member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Association of Educational Secretaries. Since her retirement, she has resided in Rensselaer with her late husband and more recently resided in Coburg Village of Clifton Park and the Home of the Good Shepherd of Malta. She is survived by nephew Wayne Malary and his wife June of Ballston Lake and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins around the country. Burial arrangements through Rockefeller Funeral Home will be private at the Castleton cemetery and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the staff of community hospice of Saratoga county for their loving care and dedication. The family would also like contributions to be made in her name to The Community Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
