Buswell, Margaret R. BALLSTON LAKE Margaret R. Buswell, 91, of Ballston Lake died on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness. She was born in Springfield, Mass. on July 23, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Hugh E. and W. Pearl Allen Roberts. Margaret was a graduate of Chester High School in Chester, Vt. and retired in 1993 from the New York State Dept. of Civil Service where she had been the commissioner's secretary. Margaret loved to dance and was an avid bridge player. She had been an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ballston Spa and was the beloved wife of the late Franklin E. Buswell, who died in 1997. She is the devoted mother of Fern (the late Jud Speer, MD) Speer of Rochester, Gail (Walter) Johann of Pittsford and Hovland, Minn. and the late Lynn (Rod) Amidon. She is also survived by her niece, Eunice (Brian) Halbedel of Rindge, N.H., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park with Deacon William Pearson of Christ Episcopal Church in Ballston Spa officiating. Spring interment will be at the convenience of the family in Poultney Cemetery in Poultney, Vt. Special thanks are given to Marilyn Clements, Michelle, Tess and Pat, her care givers, who enabled Margaret to stay in her own home. Also, special thanks to the staff at the Ellis Hospital for their tender and loving care. Thanks also to her exceptional neighbors who kept a watchful eye on her for many years. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 15 West High Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or to the . Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C.
