Robert, Marion HALFMOON Marion Robert, formerly of Halfmoon and Cohoes, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Saratoga Springs after a brief illness. Marion was born on June 6, 1928 to the late Grant and Theresa Ely Fleming in Fort Ann. Marion described that despite being raised in the Great Depression, she enjoyed her childhood, being the 10th of 11 children raised on the family dairy farm in upstate New York. She graduated from Hartford Central School in 1946. In 1949, Marion married the love of her life, Louis R. Robert and spent happy years raising her family in Cohoes. She was an exceptionally loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was widowed in 1968. Marion worked in retail at M.H. Fishman Co. and Woolworth Co. Upon retirement, Marion moved to Halfmoon. Marion enjoyed her many friends in the Marina Woods apartment community. She was an avid reader and sports fan. Above all, Marion enjoyed time and travel with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased by her siblings, Lelia Gleason, Marjorie Brayton, Grant Fleming Jr., Pauline Sherman, Joanne Lynch, George Fleming, Frank Fleming, and Earl Fleming. Marion is survived by her daughter, Deborah R. Armstrong (Gary) of Clifton Park; son, Jeffrey L. Robert (Debra) of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; and beloved grandchildren, Gregory Armstrong of Albany, Daniel Armstrong of Brooklyn, Michelle Robert of Washington D.C., Brian Robert of Pasadena, Calif. and Keith Robert of Seattle. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Alice (Les) Wilson and Francis Palla, both of Syracuse, as well as her brother-in-law Jerry Robert and sister-in-law Kay Robert of Cohoes, and her many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, Waterford, with interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
