Walton, Donald B. BALLSTON SPA Retired Maj. Donald B. Walton, 57, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home. Born in Boston on July 16, 1956, he was the son of Robert and Ethel Walton Jr. Don served in the U.S. Army for 23 years, retiring in 1997. After his retirement, he became a social studies teacher at South Colonie High School. Don was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ballston Spa. He loved traveling and studying history. He enjoyed teaching not only his students, but his children. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ethel Walton Jr. and his brother, Robert C. Walton III. Don is survived by his children, Heather Walton, Donald Walton Jr., Emily Walton and Victoria Walton, all of Saratoga Springs; a sister, Janice Walton of Sarasota, Fla.; brothers, Andrew Walton (Monica), Matthew Walton, and Brian Walton, all of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, March 14 at Christ Episcopal Church, West High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, town of Saratoga. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 E.
