Waters, Helen C. NASSAU Helen C. Waters, 81, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2014 with her loving family by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer. An earthly angel received her wings. Born in Garfield, she was the oldest daughter of the late Walter and Sarah Cure. Married to the late Norman E. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed spending time doing crafts, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Most dear to her heart was spending and enjoying time with her family and grandchildren. She was employed by the East Greenbush Central School District as a school bus aide working with the handicapped children who she missed dearly after retiring. Survivors include two sons, Bryon (Suzanne) and Michael (Gina) Waters and two daughters, Laurie (Charles) Collins and Susan (Clayton) Stanley; grandchildren, Taylor and Brittany Collins, Donald McGrath, Mikayla Waters, Jonathan, Christopher, Joshua, Rebecca and Jennifer Waters-Stinchon; and four great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by the "Cure Girls," Barbara Morse, Virginia Cottrell, Albertine Harrington, Wanda Reed, Sandra King, Sarah Jane Cure, and a brother, Samuel Cure. She was predeceased by sisters, Myra and Tookie. Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau, on Friday, March 28 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment, Nassau-Schodack Cemetery, Nassau.
