Chaput, Valerie R. BENNINGTON, Vt. Valerie R. Chaput, 60, a resident of Bennington and formerly of Schenectady, died at her home on Sunday, March 30, 2014. The daughter of the late Francis E. and Raida (Trombley) Chaput, she was born in Cohoes on December 16, 1953. Valerie was a graduate of Draper High School in Rotterdam, she continued her education at Maria College and Sage College. She graduated with her nursing degree. Valerie relocated to Bennington several years ago where she became active with the Applegate Association where she lived. She enjoyed craft work including macrame and painting. She loved to go hiking and enjoyed playing music, especially the guitar. She leaves her brothers, Jeffrey M. Chaput of Old Chatham and Francis E. Chaput Jr. of Marietta, Calif., as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. A service to celebrate the life of Valerie will be held on April 26, 2014 at 12 p.m. at the North Chatham United Methodist Church, 4274 New York 203, North Chatham.
