Scharf, Kelvin W. CLIFTON PARK Kelvin W. Scharf, 58, of Barkwood Lane, beloved husband of 35 years of Mary Foy Scharf of Clifton Park, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2014 at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Amsterdam, he was the son of Jean Turner Scharf of Amsterdam and the late Douglas Scharf. He was a graduate of W.H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam and earned his BA in finance from UAlbany. Kelvin served as vice president of Finance and Administration at Hill & Markes in Amsterdam for over 25 years. In addition to his distinguished career, he dedicated his life to his family whom he loved and cherished so much. An avid sports enthusiast, he took great joy in watching his children play soccer and rooting for his New York Yankees as well as the New York Giants, through good seasons and those that were not as successful. Beloved husband of Mary; devoted father of McKenzie (Chad) Robillard of Latham and Brendon M. Scharf of Charleston, S.C.; cherished "Poppy" of Laney and Marlee Robillard; son of Jean; brother of Laurie (Tom) Cetnar of Broadalbin, Lisa Pacifico of Norwich, Conn. and Diane Scharf of Amsterdam; son-in-law of Mary Carter of Latham; brother-in-law of Linda (Michael) Buckley of North Greenbush, Buddy (Cate) Foy of Bolton Landing and the late Donna Jones, also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and his Hill & Markes family. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 86 Churchill Rd. (Crescent) Waterford, NY 12188. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 in Clifton Park on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. The family desires that memorial contributions be made to the Wilson's Disease Association, 5572 North Diversey Blvd. Milwaukee, WI 53217 or online at, in memory of Kelvin W.
