Wesley Libby Obituary
Libby, Wesley ALBANY Wesley Libby, 90, of Albany passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born in Manchester, N.H., the son of the late John A. and Marie A. (Farland) Libby. Wesley was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from the New York Army National Guard as a sergeant major and from the New York Guard as a brigadier general. Wesley retired from the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs in 1983 after many years of service. He and his beloved wife Margaret enjoyed 22 winters in Zephyrhills Hills, Fla. Wesley enjoyed camping and traveling. He also was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League and a member of the Elks Club and the VFW. Wesley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (Parady) Libby; his son, Bill Libby (Martha); his daughter, Linda Schneider (Roland); granddaughter, Nicole Pellegrini (Aaron), and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St. Albany. Interment with military honors will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Wesley.
