McQuade, Rev. Frederick C. Jr. ALBANY The Rev. Canon Frederick Carleton McQuade Jr. left this life in peace surrounded by family on Friday, May 9, 2014. He was the son of the late Frederick C. and Elizabeth S. McQuade. Born on May 15, 1933 in Albany, he spent his youth in Spencertown, graduated from Chatham High School, then attended Siena College and the General Theological Seminary in New York. He became an ordained deacon at Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson, and was ordained a priest at the Church of the Messiah in Glens Falls. Father McQuade served the church for more than 50 years in the parishes of St. Timothy's Church of South Glens Falls, Christ Church of Middletown, N.J., St. Eustace Church of Lake Placid, St. John's Church of Troy, St. Sacrament of Bolton Landing, St. George's Church of Schenectady, St. Paul's Church of Albany, St. Luke's Church of Catskill, and the Cathedral of All Saints of Albany, having been made an honorary canon in 2007. Fr. McQuade was pre-deceased by his son, James F. R. McQuade in 2010; and is survived by his daughter, Ivy E. S. McQuade Brockley; David C. H. (Janine) McQuade; grandchildren, Lydia T. Brockley and Nicholas C. Brockley. Additionally, his sister Dorothy Hover, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Cathedral of All Saints, 62 S. Swan St., Albany, NY 12210. A Service of Christian Burial, officiated by the Right Rev. William H. Love, bishop; the Right Rev. David S. Ball, bishop-in-residence; the Very Rev. Marshall J. Vang and the Venerable Rev. David J. Collum, dean will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2014, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Cathedral of All Saints, 62 S Swan St., Albany. Inurnment will be in the Cathedral Columbarium.
