LaMountain, Joseph W. HALFMOON Joseph W. LaMountain, 57, of Grooms Road died on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Albany Medical Center Hospital as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born in Albany on September 7, 1956 and was the son of the late Elmer and Charlene Newhouse LaMountain. Joe was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School and was currently the assistant operations manager for the Times Union Center in Albany. Earlier, he had worked for a number of construction companies. He was a resident of Westport for a number of years, having worked for the Westport central school district for more than 10 years. While in Westport, Joe was a member and captain of the fire department's rescue drive team. He had been a Cub Scout leader and was a past president of the Westport Chamber of Commerce. Joe had been a communicant of St. Philip Neri Church in Westport, and was a member of the Electric City Riders motorcycle racing club. He was the husband of Jaclyn Halse LaMountain, who he married on May 21, 1983; the father of Aimee LaMountain of Halfmoon, Brent LaMountain of Cheyenne, Wyo., Zachary LaMountain of Fairfield, Iowa and Jacob LaMountain of Cheyenne; grandfather of Madisyn and MacKenzie LaMountain; uncle of Kevin, Amanda, Karonia, Derek and Alexis. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 5 p.m. in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9 in Clifton Park. Calling hours will from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, Clifton Park.
