Tonita V. Glassford Obituary
Glassford, Tonita V. ALBANY Tonita Veronica Glassford, 19, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on May 14, 2014, after a long illness, with her family and friends by her side. She was born in Albany to Mark R. Glassford and Tonya M. Coleman. Tonita was kind, caring and enjoyed shopping, hanging with her friends and traveling with her family. She loved spending time with her special friend, Vincent Malatino. She was known for her beautiful smile and her laughter. Tonita is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Nicholson, and her maternal grandfather, Matthew C. Coleman. In addition to her parents, Tonita is survived by her siblings, JaQuan Coleman, Teayona Glassford and Orlando Coleman. She is also survived by her grandmother, June Coleman; her paternal grandmother, Veronica Montgomery; her three special loving aunts, Theresa Johnson, Von Johnson and Robin Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the SCDAA, Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc., 3700 Koppers St., Suite 570 Baltimore, MD 21227 or online at sicklecelldisease.org. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 12 p.m., at the Greater St. John's COGIC, 74 Fourth Ave., Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the church.
