Parkis, Clyde L. CLIFTON PARK Clyde L. Parkis, age 70, formerly of Clifton Park, died May 18, 2014 in Vero Beach, Fla. Clyde was a former director of Stratton VA Medical Center, and gave 38 years of service to U.S. veterans and the Veterans Health Administration. He retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves as a commander. Clyde is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lynn; his sister, Margaret Schneck; his son, Larry (wife Heather and daughter Raven); son, Chris (wife Amy); honorary son Brian Grogan, and beloved nieces and nephews. Clyde is predeceased by his father Clyde Lawrence Sr.; mother Evelyn O'Neil Parkis McGurn, and brothers, Earl and Patrick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Bank Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park CA 94026. With their assistance, Clyde has donated his brain to the Mayo Clinic for the study of Parkinson's-related diseases like the Corticobasil Degeneration he was diagnosed with.
