Cichon, Donald "Dany" SELKIRK Donald "Dany" Cichon, age 78, died on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Albany Medical Center with loving family and friends surrounding him. Born in Buffalo on November 30, 1935, he was the son of the late Genevieve "Jean" Marcelene Chimelowicz and Frank Cichon. He resided between Florida and the Albany area and attended local schools, graduating from Albany High School. He was employed with Orange Motors, Marsh Hallman and DeNooyer Chevrolet for more than 50 years, until his retirement in January 2014. Dany enjoyed classic cars and auto racing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Corvette enthusiast!! Dany is the beloved significant other of Paula Ryan. They enjoyed life to the fullest by traveling, spending time in the Adirondacks and at Sacandaga Lake over the past 15 years. Dany is predeceased by his wife, Helen "Cookie" Stuto Cichon, who died in 1993. Dany is the loving father of Lisa "CJ" Cichon of Florida, and loving brother of Robert Cichon, Joan Audi, Carol Norris, John Cichon, William Cichon, Sandra Kaese, Kathy Bastiani, the late Jerry Stillman, the late Edward Cichon, the late Leonard Cichon, the late Mary Jane Aidala and the late Thomas Cichon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and Paula's children and grandchildren, whom he considered his own, and countless friends. The family would like to thank the efforts of the Delmar Fire Department, Delmar Volunteer Ambulance, Albany County Paramedics and Bethlehem Police Department for the compassion and professionalism. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dany's memory to the dedicated men and women of the Delmar Fire Department or Delmar Volunteer Ambulance, 145 Adams St., Delmar, NY 12054. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in the Tebbutt Funeral Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany.
