Courtemanche, Paul E. SCHENECTADY Paul E. Courtemanche, 78, of Schenectady passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at his home. Born in Rutland, Vt., Paul was the son of the late Lucien and Frances (Allard) Courtemanche. A member of the Naval Reserve from 1953 to 1958, Paul was a lifelong mechanic, retiring from Montgomery Ward in Niskayuna. A former stock car racer, he enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and woodworking, he was also an avid fan of western movies. Spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting family in Buffalo were among his favorite things. Paul is predeceased by his brother, John Courtemanche and his sister, Ruth Todriff. Paul is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Patricia (Conklin) Courtemanche; as well as their sons, Paul Courtemanche Jr. (Mary), John Courtemanche and Scott Courtemanche (Carol), all of Schenectady; their daughters, Kim Spector (Mike) of Glenville, Debra Courtemanche of Glenville, Penny Majewski (Mark) of Schenectady and Laura Baker (Brian) of Schenectady. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Carla Conklin, several nieces and nephews and his two feline companions, Tang and Mama. A memorial service for Paul will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 5 p.m., at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, with a visitation to be held prior from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Paul's name to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
