Cervini, Alfred MECHANICVILLE Alfred "Snuffy" Cervini, 90, of Kennedy Garden Apts., died Monday, June 9, 2014 at Schuyler Ridge, Clifton Park, after a brief illness. Native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, son of Theodore and Philomena Cimino Cervini. Al enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II, and served in the Philipines and New Guinea with the 1876th Engineer Aviation Battalion. After his discharge, Al worked as a pipefitter for the former West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co. for 30 years and then retired after 12 years from the G.E. Silicone Plant in Waterford in 1986. Al was a longtime member of the Peters-Purcell ITAM, Sons of Italy, Elks Lodge, Athletic Club and Golf Club all of Mechanicville for many years. He was husband of the late Catherine Rouche Cervini and brother of the late Anthony and Theodore Cervini, Jr. and Jean Garofolo. Survivors include son, Alfred (Rosalee) Cervini of North Carolina; granddaughter, Haley Cervini; brother of Salvadore (Jenny) Cervini and special friend of Alice Izzo both of Mechanicville, nieces, nephews and cousins and families. Funeral Mass Monday, June 16, 2014 at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, Mechanicville, with military honors burial at Saratoga National Cemetery. Gathering of family and friends on Monday from 11 a.m. - Noon at No. Main St. Church. Remembrances to All Saints Church Endowment fund.
