Ramroth, Donald G. TROY Donald G. Ramroth, 85, of Park Boulevard died peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, R.I. Born on December 4, 1928, in Troy, he was son of the late E. Edward and Anna (Hogan) Ramroth, and husband for 62 years of the late Eileen Fitz Gerald Ramroth. He lived in Troy, until moving to Hixson, Tenn., in 1984, where he resided before moving back to Troy in 1993. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Siena College. Mr. Ramroth was an ordnance engineer from 1951 to 1963, at ALCO in Schenectady, worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy in various capacities including director of physical plant from 1963 to 1984 and at the E.W. Daniels Company, in Chattanooga, Tenn., as general manager, retiring as vice president of the company in 1994. Don was an avid hunter and reader and enjoyed traveling with his wife and vacationing with his family in Maine. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church. Survivors include his children, Diane (Patrick) Dunne of Fairfax, Va., Donna (Robert) Miller of Troy, Donald (Laura) Ramroth Jr. of Portsmouth, R.I., Ellen (William) Piccerelli and Cynthia (Thomas) Ferdenzi of Barrington, R.I.; his grandchildren, Erin (Michael) Donofrio, Patrick (Amy) Dunne, Christopher, Gregory (Charlotte), Alison and Jason Miller, Evan and Ellyn Ramroth, David (Heidi), Mark, Matthew (Alexa) and Ashley Piccerelli and Matthew, Katherine, Caroline and Emily Ferdenzi; and his great-grandchildren, Nathan Donofrio, Henry, Sullivan, and Murphy Dunne, Riley and Conor Miller, Isabelle Piccerelli and Camille Piccerelli. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and James Ramroth, and his twin sister, Dorothy Rubel. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, on Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, at 9 a.m., at the funeral home and at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Randall Patterson, pastor. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Donald G.
