Sanacore, Angelo Michael HALFMOON Angelo Michael Sanacore, 86, of Brantwood Drive, Halfmoon, died on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, on December 12, 1927 and was the son of the late Michael and Francesca Anselmo Sanacore. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Automotive High School, class of 1945 and a decorated U.S. Army Veteran, having served with distinction from 1945-1947. He was a member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and served with the Military Police, Amphibious Division, Morro Bay and at Fort Ord, Calif.; Coxswain on LCVP and LCM; Military Police at Fort Sheridan, Ill. and had been a trumpet player for the U.S. Army Band at Fort Sheridan. Michael, known by many, was a retired hair stylist, having been known as Michael Angelo International, provided his talent to many famous actors and actresses over the years. He was a Florida State Examining Board certifying member. A skilled trumpeter, Michael played with Jazz musicians in the Big Band Era in NYC. He was a member of the Halfmoon American Legion: Mohawk Post 1450, the Halfmoon Senior Citizens Center and he enjoyed bowling. He was a faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church, Round Lake, and a devout Catholic. He is the beloved husband of Rosina Orlando Sanacore, who he married on November 15, 1947; devoted father of Michael Sanacore of Valatie; dear brother of Dr. Joseph Sanacore of Long Island, John Sanacore of Las Vegas, Nev. and Frances Sulikowski of Long Island; cherished grandfather of Michael Joseph Sanacore of Kinderhook and Teresa Maria Sanacore of Manhattan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14 at 9 a.m., at the Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Round Lake, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment, with full military honors will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Calling hours will be from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, in the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, Clifton Park.
