Mancino, John C. TROY John C. Mancino, 70, died unexpectedly in his residence on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Born in Troy, he was son of the late Thomas E. and Theodora Zimmer Mancino. He was raised and educated in Troy and graduated from Troy High School. John was a resident of North Greenbush for 40 years and was employed by the State of New York, initially with the Department of Motor Vehicles in 1968 and most recently in the Office of the State Comptroller from where he retired in 2001. John was a long-time area musician and, over the years, played bass in a number of local bands. He appreciated jazz music, enjoyed watching movies and was a member of a local Rod and Gun Club. John was the beloved father of Lori M. (John) Dobis of Clifton Park, Diane M. Soto of Malta and John T. Mancino of Troy; cherished grandfather of Christopher Michael Dobis, Mia Jolie Dobis and Gabriella Eleanor Soto; dear brother of David Mancino of Lansingburgh and the late Dominick and Thomas Mancino. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Braodway, Watervliet on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. in the Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 28 State St., Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Mario F. Julian, OFM, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Friends are invited and may also call visit with John's family on Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
