Lofrumento, Anthony ALBANY Anthony (Tony) Lofrumento, 82, died Monday, March 3, 2008 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Tony was born in Albany, son of Peter and Laura (Gravina) Lofrumento. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 1986. Tony was an avid gardener, a frequent visitor to the Sydney Albert JCC gym, a generous Red Cross blood donor, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also volunteered for many years at the Stratton Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was husband of 50 years to Gertrude (Trudy) Bullis Lofrumento; father of Anthony (Brad Fowler) of Albany, Laura Schindler (David) of East Greenbush, Mary Elizabeth Hooper (John) of Delmar, Daniel Peter (Susan) of Colonie, Michael of Albany and the late Peter John; grandfather of Kristen Schindler, Julie, Philip and Jillian Hooper, Peter and Nicholas Lofrumento; brother of Victoria Lofrumento of Albany, John Lofrumento of East Greenbush and Peter Gravin of Vacaville, Calif. and the late Joseph Lofrumento, Michael Lofrumento, Marguerite Del Balso, Rose Robertson, Nancy Muraski and Laura Izzo; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Tony's supportive care teams including Dr. Michael Esposito, Community Hospice and St. Peter's Hospice Inn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa of Avila Church. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations be made to St. Teresa of Avila Church or Food Pantry, 435 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
