Link, Margaret SLINGERLANDS Margaret "Peggy" Link died peacefully on November 8, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in Troy, N.Y. on November 11, 1927 to the late Leonard J. and Veronica Hickey. She attended Vincentian Institute and graduated from the College of Saint Rose in 1949, where she developed lifelong friendships. Bridge games and "luncheons" were a highlight in her later years. She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to see many parts of the world. However, her number one love was her family: her late husband, her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved telling them stories, the holidays, and taking them shopping where they could "make out like a bandit". Peggy was a devoted mother to three sons and would also occasionally substitute teach in the Albany Parochial School System. As an empty nester she went to work at the New York State DMV until her retirement in 1992. She spent many winters in Naples, Fla. and had many friends who also shared her passion for bridge and luncheon activities. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul A. Link, who died in 2009; loving mother of Peter (Joan) of Slingerlands, Thomas of Albany and the late John (Debbie) of East Greenbush. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kelly (Derek) Cerza, Katey (Tony) Brown, Rachel (Tony) Moore, Kimberly (Christopher) Maiello, Christina Link, Andrea Link, Kristin Link and Leonard Link. Funeral services Friday, November 12, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, thence to the Parish of Mater Christi (formerly St. Catherine of Siena Church), Albany at 10:00 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
