Taylor, Charles A. CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. Charles A. Taylor, 74, of Clifton Park, died on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born on August 30, 1936 in York, Pa. and was the son of the late John E. and Stella Duff Taylor. He was the loving husband of 51 years to Jacqueline L. Taylor; caring father of Michelle (Harry) Ching of Clifton Park, Patricia (Randy) Fox of New York City, Charles (Nicole) Taylor, Jr. of Menlo Park, Calif., Sharon (Steve) Colburn of Parker, Colo. and David (Cathy) Taylor of Stow, Mass.; grandfather, of Kara, Lance, Caitlin, Kristin, Jeffrey, Bryn, Matthew, Alexa, Sophia, Nathaniel, Jackson and Hayley; brother of John Taylor, Stella Stott, Margaret Krepps, Rita Fitzpatrick, and the late Rev. Francis Taylor. Chuck had a lifelong love of learning. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburg, and subsequently received an M.B.A. from SUNY Albany, a J.D. from Duquesne University and an M.S. in theology from St. Bernards School of Theology. He was a licensed professional engineer, a member of the New York State Bar Association and the U.S. Patent Bar. Chuck was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy in 1959 and retired as a captain from the U.S. Naval Reserve. During his career as an engineer he was employed by General Electric and the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. He was the manager of Health and Safety for GE Nuclear Energy's Shippingport Station Decommissioning Project, which was the first full-size nuclear power plant to be totally decommissioned. Subsequently, he opened a private law practice specializing in intellectual property. He was ordained to the Diaconate in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany in 2001. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 29 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park, NY. All are welcome to a service of prayer and remembrance on Monday at 7 p.m. at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 30 at 9 a.m. at St. Edward's. Following the Mass, interment with full military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Birthright of Saratoga County, 40 Front St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C.
