Mayo, William "Bucky" Sr . LATHAM William "Bucky" Mayo Sr., 73, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 28, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Lynn (Marilyn) Hurley Mayo. Born in Troy, son of the late Dewey and Ann McHugh Mayo, he resided in Green Island for 20 years, moving to Latham in 1980. He served in the National Guard for 13 years and had been employed as a statistical clerk in the NYS Health Department for many years, retiring in 1997. Bucky was a communicant of the former St. Joseph's Church in Green Island and had been very active in St. Joseph's School with the bingos, bazaars and Home School Association. He had also been very active in the Green Island Little League. Survivors in addition to his wife Lynn, include his children; William Mayo Jr. of Latham, Kathleen (William) Chard of Latham, Thomas (Timothy Dunham) Mayo of Brunswick and James Mayo of Green Island; his grandchildren, Kyle, Sara, Devan, James Jr., Davina, Erik and Kasie; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edith and Warren Hurley of Green Island. He was predeceased by his brother, James Mayo and sister, Maryann Leonard. Funeral services will be held at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
