Schuster, Edgar G. EAST GREENBUSH Edgar G. Schuster, 79, died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Koethen, Germany to the late Heinz and Luise Schuster (Groeger), Edgar came to America in 1952 and worked as a mason bricklayer, a trade that he thoroughly enjoyed and took great pride in. He retired from the Local #2 Bricklayers Union in 1992. Edgar enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid soccer enthusiast. He was an honorary financial secretary for the German American Club in Albany . Edgar is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Yolanda (Klose) Schuster; one daughter, Linda M. Wicks; one son, Edgar A. ( Jill ) Schuster; one brother, Horst Schuster in Castleton; and two sisters, Edith and Kaete; and a brother, Gerhard in Germany. He was the loving Opa to Jennifer and Kimberly Wicks and Derek and Kevin Schuster. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Edgar was predeceased by three brothers in Germany. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Rockefeller Funeral Home 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer, NY. Funeral will follow calling hours at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery East Schodack , N.Y .
