Edmunds, Frederick R. VERO BEACH, Fla. Frederick R. Edmunds, 85, formerly of Voorheesville, N.Y., died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at his home in Vero Beach, Fla. Mr. Edmunds was born August 23, 1925 in Rochester, N.Y. He was a graduate of the University of Rochester and Cornell University School of Law and served in the Army Air Corp in World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a partner in the law firm of Gary, Cahill, Edmunds, Breslin and later Gary, Cahill, Edmunds & Calderone in Albany. Mr. Edmunds was a noted Civil War historian and after residing in Voorheesville, N.Y. for 40 years, he and his wife, Nancy, moved to Gettysburg, Pa. to establish the Confederate States Armory and Museum. Survivors include children, Stephanie Adams (David) of Atlanta, Ga., Dr. Geoffrey Edmunds (Lynn) of Voorheesville, N.Y., Linda Friedrich of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Dr. Frederick Edmunds (Peggy) of Victor, N.Y., Emme Edmunds of Ithaca, N.Y., Thomas Edmunds of Schoharie, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Nancy I. Edmunds in 2009. Memorial contributions may be made to, The Great Conewago Presbyterian Church, Gettysburg, Pa.
