Belogi, Mary E. TROY Mary E. Belogi, 91, of Lansingburgh died peacefully on January 18, 2012 at the Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Cohoes, on October 10, 1920 to Catherine and James Ryan. She was a graduate of Keveney Academy and the Troy Business College. After completing her education, Mary was employed as a legal secretary at the O'Brien Law Firm in Cohoes. On August 25, 1946, she became the bride of Joseph Belogi. Mary and Joe raised their family on Third Avenue in Lansingburgh. In addition to her career as a homemaker, in the 1970's Mary performed volunteer work at St. Augustine's School and at the Troy Public Library. Later she was employed at the library technical service department and retired on her 70th birthday. Mary was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh and was a member of the School's Mothers Club. She was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed all styles of music and the company of her family and friends. Mary is survived by her five children, Joseph (Kim) Belogi of Glen Burnie, Md., Catherine Birkelien of Baltimore, Md., Rev. James Belogi, pastor of St. Madeline Sophie Church in Guilderland, Brian and Stephen Belogi both of Troy. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Erica (John) Brazier and Amy Birkelein both of Abingdon, Md.; and one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brazier. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Waterford. Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P.
