Brucculeri, Catherine CLIFTON PARK Catherine Brucculeri, 83, passed away on March 10, 2012 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness. Catherine was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Charles and Giacoma (Minnie) Izzo. In 1950, she married Vincent (Jim) Brucculeri, and together, they raised a growing family, first in Brooklyn and then on Long Island. In 1975, Vincent and Catherine moved their family to Clifton Park, which she called home for the rest of her life. Catherine was a communicant at St. Edward's Church in Clifton Park for 37 years, where she also volunteered as a CCD teacher. She also volunteered at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park. She was also a long-time employee at Carl Company in Clifton Park, where she worked in the cosmetics department. She also worked at the Clifton Park Library. Those who knew Catherine will always remember her broad smile, quick laugh and strong opinions. She was an enthusiastic Yankees fan her entire life, who alternately celebrated and bemoaned the fate of her team over the course of seven decades, from Joe DiMaggio through Derek Jeter. She was also a life-long booklover, whose tastes spanned the gamut from spy thrillers to Jane Austen. Catherine also enjoyed painting, sketching, and gardening. She was always happiest when she was with her loved ones, and her kitchen was the hub of a far-flung but tightly-knit family. Catherine was a devoted wife to her husband Jim for 36 years until his death in 1986. She was also the loving mother and grandmother to her six children and six grandchildren, MaryAnn DeVita (Artie) of Midlothian, Va. and their daughters, Jeanette DeVita (Boris Kizelshteyn) and Kristin DeVita (Norm Scott), Anthony of Clifton Park, Jackie Blond (the late Joe) of Clifton Park and their son Vinny, Chuck (Donna) of Lake Placid, Christopher (Mary Ellen) of Saratoga Springs and their children, Erica, Michelle and Christopher Jr., and Jim of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
