Germain, Elizabeth ALBANY Elizabeth (Zappone) Germain, 94, died May 6, 2012 at her daughter's home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie Zappone. Elizabeth was a retired secretary from the U.S. Treasury Dept., Internal Revenue Service. She was a commun icant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Con-ception. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Europe, Canada and parts of the U.S. Elizabeth was predeceased by husband of 62 years, Edward; son Edward Jr. and sister Dolores Meyers. She was the mother of Marjorie (Richard) Rossi of Scotia and Mark Germain of Mont.; mother-in-law of Linda Germain; sister of Edith Brady, Rosalie Cilwick, Ann Trombley and Joseph Zappone. Grandmother of Terrence (Stephanie) Farrell, Brendan (Ashley) Farrell, Kimberly (Joseph Penzebene) Farrell, Stephanie (Gordon) Iwan, Lisa Germain, Sara (Ben) Oliver and Scott, Josie and Bianca Germain. Step-grandmother of Richard (Kaitlyn) Rossi and Daina (Gregg) Sisk. Also great-grandchildren, Volante, Joseph, Gabriella, Sophia, Benjamin, Evynne, Brady, Ashdan, Ricky and Ethan. A very special thank you to the wonderful caregivers of Community Hospice of Schenectady. Her family will be forever grateful. Elizabeth has donated her body to science. A memorial Mass will be said on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Contributions in her memory may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady County and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
