Potts, Harmon L. COHOES Harmon L. Potts of Cohoes, at the age 91, ceased the activities of life on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home in Troy, N.Y. Harmon was the loving husband of the late Olive Potts. He was predeceased by a son, William O. Potts. He was son of the late Lester and Agnes Potts as well as a brother to the late Gerald and Ronald Potts. Harmon loved to fish; hunt, and was a long standing member of the NRA. He was also an avid gardener. He retired from the Desormeau Vending Co. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Robert) Austin; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Potts; and his grandchildren, William R. Potts, Michael (Stacy) Austin, and Sarah Austin. As a husband, father, grandfather and friend, Harmon touched so many lives with his loving and caring ways as well as his incredible sense of humor. The world has lost a very kind and gentle soul. We want to thank the many wonderful nurses at St Mary's Hospital and also the loving and caring staff at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home, especially the dedicated staff on the 3B wing. You are all angels on Earth who will always be dearly remembered with unending gratitude. We wish to also thank Tammy for her endearing and dedicated care. Our thanks also to Dr. Villarama, Mother Gerry Clemmons for your spiritual support and to the caring people of Hospice who helped us along Harmon's final journey home. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. A prayer service will conclude the evening at 7 p.m. Interment will be private in Waterford Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home.
