Villa, Carmela (Clements) MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Carmela (Clements) Villa, 87, of Kennedy Garden Apartments, died Friday, June 8, at home, after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechan icville, born February 15, 1925, she was daughter of the late Peter and Mary Ambersine Clements, Sr. Carm had worked for Catholic Charities Head Start Program in Mechanicville for years, and also was a former receptionist with the city of Mechanicville. A member of the Assumption-St. Paul Church and the church's Sacred Heart Society, Carm also was a member of the Mechanicville Senior Citizens. Along with her late parents and siblings, she assisted the Italian Fraternal Society with their Feast of the Assumption Feast and festivities. Carm was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Frank A. Villa, who died in 1977; a sister, Lena Barber and brother Peter Clements Jr. Survivors include son, John Villa of Stillwater; daughters, Maryellen Hunt of North Carolina and Karen (Scott Salvadore) Alston of Stillwater; grandchildren, Kristal and Jack Carpenter, David Alston and Jonathan Villa; great-grandchildren, Alana Demand and Domenica Carpenter; and sisters, Anna Niser of Saratoga Springs, Philomena DiBello and Catherine Lynch, both of Mechanicville, along with a number of nieces, nephews and their families. Also special friend and caregiver, Bambi LeClaire. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
