Sawyer, Linda L. TROY Linda L. Sawyer, 55, died peacefully, Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her home. Born in Cohoes on September 27, 1956, she is the daughter of Alice Stewart Roe Mantello of Willards, Md. and the late Peter Roe, Jr. and stepdaughter of the late Dominick Mantello. Linda was raised and educated in Troy and was employed by Morgan Linen, the Commission for Economic Opportunity as an infant preschool teacher and last by the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy as a linen distributor. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed crafts and camping. She is the beloved wife of Bruce W. Sawyer, Sr.; loving mother of Bruce W. (Nancy) Sawyer, Jr. of Cohoes, Stephanie (Bruce) St. Gelais and Steven R. (Stacie) Sawyer, both of Troy grandmother of Andrew, Skyler, Ashley, Alicia, Destiny, Chelsey, Bruce Jr., Meagan, Joseph, Amelia and the late Steven R. Sawyer, Jr.; great-grandmother of Adam Wilcox, Jr.; sister of Elizabeth Williams of Troy, Mary (Luis) Estrada of Belair, Md., Annie Birch and Alice (Ray) Quay, both of Selbyville, Del., Theresa (Kenneth) Collins of Whaleyville, Md., Lisa Mantello of Willards, Md., Sarah (Clinton) Young of Cheseapeake, Va. and the late Carmen Prouty. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Interment, Waterford Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Contributions may be made to the or to Community Hospice of Rensselaer.
