Flowers, Hubert Fraser CLAYTON, N.C. Hubert Fraser Flowers, 80, died June 20, 2012. Mr. Flowers was a lifetime member of the New York America Legion Post 0001 and a Civil War historian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association. Mr. Flowers was retired from the New York Railroad and an avid genealogist. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hose Flowers; two children, Patricia Ann Cozzo and Herbert B. Flowers; three grandchildren; and four stepsisters, Jane Powell, Sarah Dorgan, Lou Rosenberg, all of Albany, and Madeleine Siracusa of New Jersey. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012 at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Clayton. He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery with military.
