Tarsa, Mary (Gainski) MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Mary (Gainski) Tarsa, 90, of Riverside, died Tuesday morning, November 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Riverside, born Sept. 13, 1922, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Shimko Gainski, Mary was the widow of Frank M. Tarsa, who died in 1977. A graduate of St. Paul's Parochial School and Mechanicville High School Class of 1941, Mary worked at a number of jobs in her lifetime, lastly as supervisor of the student payroll office, SUNY Albany for over 25 years, retiring in 1987. Also the NYS Depts. of Labor and Audit and Control and a former office manager for Fruehauf Trailers.She was a charter member and former secretary of the Ladies Aux. of Henry F. Lefko America Legion, Riverside, a member a secretary of the Business and Professional Women's club, the Mechanicville Senior Citizens, the CSEA and Retired Public Employees Assoc. and a local Avon representative for over 25 years.She was a faithful member of All Saints on the Hudson Church and the Court of St. Paul Catholic Daughters of America. A fun loving go-getter, Mary enjoyed the company of others, and was once called a "lucky traveler" by her friends (long horse racing story). Survivors include her two daughters, Anne Marie and John Crumb of Troy and Linda and Edward Jordan of Halfmoon; her son, Michael and Mary Tarsa of Stillwater; grandchildren, Richard (Kristen) Crumb, Daniel (Jean) Crumb, Shawn (Nancy) Crumb, Michele (Greg) Sims, Sheila (Pat) Kemble and Renee (Scott) Davis. Also great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Caitlyn and Samantha Sims, Ryan Walter and Taylor Davis, Robert and Tyler Crumb, Austin Reynolds and Marissa Egnor. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at All Saints on the Hudson South Church (St. Paul's), 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery.
