Boink, Clara E. KEENE, N.H. Clara E. Hagadorn Risley Boink, 87, passed away November 7, 2012. She was born in Troy to the late Clarence Ward Hagadorn and Eva Irene Shaw Hagadorn. Clara was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Boink; her parents and her siblings, Clarence Hagadorn, Joan White and Frances Crandall. She is survived by her sons, Martin Risley (Linda) of Swanzey, N.H. and Philman Risley (Shirley Scoggins) of Deltona, Fla. Also survived by grandchildren, Tamara Hansen, (Jared) of Spanish Fork, Utah, Brent Risley (Cassie), Matthew Risley (Meredith), and Elizabeth Risley (Garrett Lang) all of Heber, Utah; and great-grandchildren, Fischer and Marlee Risley of Heber and Cora and Thomas Hansen of Spanish Fork. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She retired from the NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance in 1987 where she was a supervising tax technician. In the late 1950's Clara petitioned the Rotterdam Parks Dept for space to establish a young girls' softball playing field (now the Eunice Esposito Park). With the help of many parents, she spear-headed the original Rotterdam Softball League, Inc. During the same years she organized and supervised a Saturday bowling league at the then Rolling Greens Lanes for boys and girls ages 8-18. In her younger years Clara had been an avid walker, bicyclist and bowler. She was also a competitive pistol shooter and won several local, state and national awards. Later in life she enjoyed golfing. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, November 10 at 11 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady with a visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
