Durante, Anna Sluti MECHANICVILLE Anna Sluti Durante, 87, of Hemstreet Park, died at home, Monday, November 12, 2012 after being stricken. A native and lifelong area resident, daughter of the late Michael and Susie Sluti, and wife of the late Ralph Durante, who died in 1991. A home-maker, Anna had worked years ago for Galante Paper and Stillwater Knitting Mill. A member of the Assumption-St. Paul Church, Anna enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting, solving word search puzzles and playing bingo, and loved her pets, especially her late canine companion "Lucky".. Proud of her family, she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and their families. Anna was an avid walker, who would walk "over street" on a daily basis, and most times would also walk to St. Paul's Cemetery, to tend to her husband's grave. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Randol of Oregon; her son, Paul S. Durante of Stillwater; grandchildren, Jillian Randol, Holly (Jim) Gerardi of Stillwater, Jodi (Lenny) Coppola of Lake Luzerne and Greg Durante of Stillwater. Also five great-grandchildren, Anthony, Brandon, Valerie, Austin and Jonathan; along with nieces, nephews and their families. Ann was also predeceased by her brothers, Stephen, Michael and George Sluti and sister Susie Hytko. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the John Ahearn Rescue Squad, PO Box 669, Mechanicville, 12118, in memory of Anna Sluti Durante.
