Mason, Robert J. NASSAU Robert J. Mason, 78, of Nassau, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 in St. Peter's Hospital (Hospice). Robert was born in Albany. He was employed as head custodian for the Albany Board of Education for 23 years. He retired from that position in 1991. Robert worked his whole life with the goal in mind of taking care of his family. He loved hunting, creating things with his hands, John Wayne, and Elvis but his favorite thing in life was the lottery. He was a loving father and grandfather who would do anything in his power to help his children and grandchildren. Robert is survived by his siblings, William Mason, James Mason, Loretta Bartow, and June Haggadone. He is also survived by his children, daughter, Judy Brown (Michael) and their children, Katie and Sean Brown of Miami, Fla. Son, Robert Keneston (Sue) and their children Jeremy, Christopher, and Mercedes Keneston of Rensselaer, N.Y. Son, Russell Mason of Albany. Daughter, Joyce Ann Sousa (James Dominy) and their children, Shawn Robert McCarthy, Dylan Sousa, as well as Jeffrey, Brandon, Amanda, Paul, Ceiara, and Brigit Dominy of Rensselaer. Funeral service from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, Saturday November 24 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Friday evening November 23 from 5-8 p.m. Interment in New Rural Cemetery, 330 3rd Avenue Ext, Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers donations in Robert's memory may be made to the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
