Hoogkamp, Alice (Bannister) ALBANY Alice Bannister Hoogkamp, 90, of Albany, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Peter's Nursing & Rehab Center, Albany. Mrs. Hoogkamp was born and raised in Hudson, but had lived in Albany since marrying Bill, the love of her life in 1949. She had a beautiful singing voice and during World War II, sang regularly as part of a trio on a Kingston radio station. She was employed by General Electric in Colonie for 29 years. She will always be remembered for her heart-warming smile, her quick wit, and a laugh she shared with everyone. One of the greatest joys of her life was traveling and spending time at the beach with her husband, Bill. Mrs. Hoogkamp is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, William Hoogkamp. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Ruth Wheeler Bannister and by her brother, Robert Bannister. She is survived by her brother's wife, Claire Bannister; and by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on her husband's side, and she was adored by her many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 12 p.m. Relatives are invited, and may call at the funeral home Thursday morning prior to the service beginning at 9.
