Haswell, Donald W. WYNANTSKILL Donald W. Haswell, 79 of Wynantskill, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at home. Donald was born in Albany, he was a graduate of Columbia High School and Hudson Valley Commu-nity College. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and later retired in 1991 as a building engineer for NYNEX Telephone Co. after nearly 40 years. Donald volunteered much of his time for community service organizations thru the Telephone Pioneers and was a blood and platelet donor for the American Red Cross for many years. He was a life member of the Van Rensselaer Lodge F & AM. He was an avid reader, stamp collector and loved helping and caring for his children and grandchildren Predeceased by his sister, Barbara Cameron. Donald is survived by his wife, Nancy A. (Felitti)) Haswell; two daughters, Ellen A. (Jeff) Manor and Meredith A. (David) Brennan; one son, Gary A. (Andrea) Haswell; one sister, Joyce Van Amburgh; and one brother, Richard G. (Beatrice) Haswell; four grandchildren, Kate, Adam, Jack, Abigail. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and his beloved grand dogs, Cali, Lily and Winston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life 6:00 p.m. on Friday from Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc., 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, N.Y. Friends may call in the funeral home Friday from 3-6 p.m. prior to the service. Contributions may be made to Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 1 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 or American Red Cross, 33 Everett Rd., Albany NY 12204.
