Wilkinson, Doris P. TROY Doris P. Wilkinson, 76, of Ingalls Ave. died Monday, April 1, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born and educated in St. Michel, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Margaret Rita Guilbeault Pier. She came to this country in 1952. Doris was retired from the Western Turnpike Golf Course Club House. She had also worked as a floral designer at the former Flowers by Anita in Cohoes and Lennon's Flowers in Latham. In her earlier years she worked as a nurse's aid at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany and Eden Park in Troy. Doris was a longtime communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church in Troy. A caring and giving person, she volunteered at the Troy Food Pantry and supported Unity House in Troy. She is the mother of Larry J. Wilkinson Jr. (Donna) of Cohoes, Anita L. Haight (John) of Rotterdam, Robert W. Wilkinson (MaryAnn) of Halfmoon and James A. Wilkinson (Kelly) of Brunswick, the late Anthony J., Paul W., Richard and Daniel Wilkinson. She is the sister of Richard Pier (Madeline) of Brunswick, Anita LaMarche (Raymond), Donald Pier (Sheila) of Cohoes, Diane Blakeslee (Donald) of Clifton Park and the late Patricia Hogan; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 4-8 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Unity House of Troy or the Fund in care of the funeral home office.
