Anderson, Joanne WYNANTSKILL Joanne M. Sheedy Anderson, age 82, beloved wife of the late John O. Anderson, died on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Marie Moran Sheedy. She was a graduate of St. Peter's Elementary School and Catholic Central High School, class of 1949, both in Troy. In early life, she was a telephone operator for New York Telephone. She worked for many years as a nursery school teacher at Jack and Jill Nursery School in Wynantskill. She lived in Wynantskill most of her adult life, and was a past communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. She enjoyed doing the New York Times crossword puzzle in pen, was a great cook and loved to read mysteries and decorate her house, especially at Christmas. The family would like to say, "We will miss you, Tallulah!" Survivors include her children, Gerard (Annegret) Anderson of Port Washington, Long Island, John "Jace" (Debra) Anderson of Virginia Beach, Va., Martha Anderson of Wynantskill, Elizabeth Champitto of Troy and Edward Anderson of Wynantskill and her grandchildren, Kristina and Elizabeth Anderson and Ava Champitto. She was predeceased by her seven sisters, Agatha Nelson, Reba Donahue, Helen Evers, Mary Lamb, Edna, Gladys, and Eleanor Sheedy and a brother, Jim Sheedy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be from St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. when a memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be at the Thomas S. Connolly Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Jude the Apostle Church Memorial Fund, 43 Brookside Ave., Wynantskill, NY 12198 in memory of Mrs. Anderson would be appreciated.
